“It’s my pleasure to write about URI and its Regional Coordinator Ms. Subhi Dhupar. My association with the network is of 3 years. I have closely worked with them to make my students understand about the grassroots reality of conflict studies. We organised an interactive session at School of Business Studies and Social Sciences, CHRIST (deemed to be university) Bangalore for students of conflict management and peace with Ms Subhi. This session has been an eye opener for students in relation to understanding gender based conflicts in states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Our few students have also worked with them as an intern. Their experience of day to day work at URI has been wonderful. They were exposed to the method of learning by doing. They conducted interviews of the people involved in interfaith dialogue. Their internship experience has shaped their understanding of conflict studies. I truly appreciate the constant efforts made by the United Religion Initiative(URI) network to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
